Highly recommended by Professor Klingle, this book is largely credited with the creation of a national park dear to my heart. I am from Southwest Florida and live within half an hour\u2019s drive from the Everglades, one the nation\u2019s grandest parks. Douglas\u2019s book speaks to nature\u2019s wonders, its complexity, and its need for protection. This book is a required reading for any Florida native or anyone interested in the environment. <i>The Everglades: River of Grass<\/i> provides us with a thorough yet very engaging historical telling of one of the world\u2019s largest expanses of wetlands.
