Written by the author of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (another favorite of mine), it is the story of George Hall\u2019s attempt to adjust to life after retirement. All the guy wants to do is listen to a little jazz, build a shed in his garden so he can start painting, and enjoy life. His wife, daughter, and son all contribute to the events interfering with his quiet little nervous breakdown. Just wait for the post-wedding reception scene. That\u2019s all I\u2019m going to say, I don\u2019t want to ruin your anticipation.
