Parker Lamal-Brown ’18<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Library just wrapped up a celebration of National\u00a0Poetry\u00a0Month, during which daily pop-up\u00a0poetry\u00a0readings were held under Alexander Calder\u2019s Red Fossils<\/em> mobile in Hawthorne-Longfellow Library.\u00a0 Every weekday at noon, a student, faculty, or staff member read a favorite\u2014or sometimes, an original\u2014poem to an appreciative audience. \u00a0Readers from across campus shared poems that resonated with them, a surprisingly intimate and often profoundly moving experience for the listeners.\u00a0 Those of us who \u201ctook ten\u201d to hear a reading can testify to the enduring power of\u00a0poetry; see the\u00a0list of the readers\u00a0and their chosen poems below.\u00a0 The series was dedicated to the memory of Professor of English Celeste Goodridge, who passed away in March.<\/p>\n
