The Submission imagines this circumstance and develops an intriguing and all-too-plausible plot about the aftermath. I found myself drawn along by the storyline and by the characters, wanting to know the choices they would make, but agonizing about the turns of plot. Questions of identity and morality abound as “submission” takes on multiple meanings for the varied characters.
